I thought I’d share a few videos I’ve been watching to give some context!

Throwing bowls:

This was a great view of the whole process, but as I mentioned previously, I needed to go back to the basics before I simply “went for it” again.

Research on bats:

So, my particle board bats are definitely not ideal since they aren’t supposed to sit in water or they warp, and they generally don’t have any grip on them. Plaster bats sound like a good idea, or even plastic bats that have groove or texture on them.

I did try this method with the bats, but I’m either too unpractised and give up too easily or the bats I made are not suitable for this.

I started thinking about different clays, not that this has much to do with bats!

I’ve always used stoneware, but maybe it’s time to try some new things out …
